Warm feet, warm hearts

I was several months into learning to knit when a saleswoman at the craft store mentioned she used a certain yarn for slippers. I thought, "Oh yeah, slippers!" My grandma used to make knitted slippers for my whole family. We called them "booties" – even the adults! So I started searching for slipper patterns online and eventually found some great ones on  Kween Bee . I've made a couple of different patterns from the site but my favourites so far are their adult bootie slippers because of the snug band that keeps them on your feet. I've made several pairs of these slippers. Above are my husband's (left) and mine. I made these with Heartland Yarn from Lion Brand , a soft acrylic yarn whose colours are named after American landmarks. The colour names are quite important to me when choosing yarn, for some reason! I knit my husband's slippers in the Kings Canyon shade and mine in Rocky Mountains.  Mine are a bit fuzzier, since I've washed them a few ...
